I threaten the game when I'm scared.

Today I learned something new about myself. I can be threatening when I'm scared. Case in point, I started playing Bioshock this weekend and I had no idea it was going to be a creepy game at all. Today while playing it, I got to the first boss, a fellow by the name of Dr. Steinman. He was behind a window muttering to himself, so I ignored him because I didn't know he was a boss. All of a sudden he bursted through the window guns a-blazin' and it startled me. I started to yell at the game verbatim, "Do you know who I am? Do you know who I am?!?! I'm Jeff Lam! Who wants some? Who's next! WHO'S NEXT!!!". Well, after I beat the boss, I had to pause the game and laugh at myself, realizing I sounded ridiculous. Well, it's random, but I just thought I'd share.

Also, 1 vs 100 on the Xbox is a great party game. Some friends were over tonight and the game was full of moments of intensity and laughter.

In other news, I'm going back to New York next week, this time for a cousin's wedding. I'm pumped! But also, I have a shit ton to review (4 different things right now), so I'm going to try to pump them out before I leave.

There IS a video on youtube about something similar...I'll see if I can find it...

1 vs 100! Love it. I now approve of Keith purchasing an X Box. Well, I kinda always did. Now even more so.

Bioshock..nice choice. You are gonna love that one. 1 vs 100 is a lot of fun but i often wonder how some of these people make to be the "one". It is supposed to be based on speed and skill yet you see these people flunk out on the first three easy questions.

@Mike: Me and my sister had the exact same conversation about that. How is it possible that those guys are the best of the best. No way. Something is fishy.

The League of Denial (2013)

The topic of concussions in sports is a dialogue that’s been growing the past number of years.  Do a search on ‘concussions’ and ‘football’ and you’ll get several thousand hits on the controversy that’s surrounded the sport.  It’s a challenging topic as the research is all relatively new, and the topic itself challenges the mentality and philosophy adopted by football loving Americans.  Now, I’m not a fan of football or NFL but when I saw this book lying at the local bookstore, my interest was piqued.  Although I’m not a fan of football, those that know me know that I’m an unabashed fan of prowrestling.  Talks about concussions are also quite a hot topic even within the prowrestling sub-culture.  Earlier this year, one of the hottest wrestlers of the current era, Daniel Bryan, retired early at the age of 34 due to a history of concussion related issues.  Interestingly, he was not permitted to return to the ring due to the disapproval by WWE’s medic...

MAX PAYNE was oh so PAYNEFUL!!!

What a failure this was. An EPIC FAILURE~! And I'll tell you why. This movie had everything going for it which was why it made the failure seem so huge. It had star power. It had a very competent director. The visual style was there. It had a simple storyline... a storyline that was basically fuck-proof because it's so basic. The effects (when there were any) were also pretty great. So where did they go wrong? Pacing. If the first two-thirds of the film was like the last third, I think it would have been a fine film. Not great by any means, but fine. I mean, there was hardly any action in the first hour. It was all talk and build up. Every 5 minutes I was saying to myself, "okay, something cool is gonna happen now". But it never came. I think had they added 2 or 3 big action sequences during that hour, that it would have helped the film breathe and flow better.
