HOLY @#$@!!! WHAT A MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yah, I really enjoyed this movie. It's a shame that it's doing so bad at the box office. In its second week of its theatrical run, it amounted to only 10th place for the weekend. A poor showing. But it was interesting. I went to see it in downtown Toronto with a crew of guys and to my surprise, the theater was nearly packed... and this was a Monday night! It's weekend revenues surely did not reflect this particular cinema. But then again, for this particular movie, Toronto theaters might be biased as our city played host to the movie. The movie opened up with a 16-bit version of the Universal Pictures logo complete with 16-bit audio. As soon as that graced the screen, I knew I was going to love the rest of the movie. Scott Pilgrim Vol. 1-3

Over the past year, I've heard rumblings about the Scott Pilgrim movie over on AICN, but never caught on to the hype probably because I never read the source material. The trailer was released two weeks ago and with its video game-like appeal, I thought to myself, "ooh... this might actually be interesting". So I tackled the first three volumes in the series of six (of which five have been released) and can confidently say that I enjoyed them. Scott Pilgrim is a series of manga-like comics with its story based in Toronto. The story follows Scott, who is unemployed, loves video games and plays in a band, while he finds his true love. There's a girl that constantly reappears in his dreams and he's convinced that she's "the one". One day he meets Ramona Flowers, who turns out to be the girl haunting his dreams, and they hit it off.
